Robert has a wealth of construction contract knowledge and a great deal of experience in front-end construction documentation across a range of complex major projects.

After graduating from Sydney University, Robert worked in the construction teams at two major Sydney firms, with a particular focus on infrastructure, major projects, and public-private partnerships. Robert then gained experience in-house with an ASX100 construction materials supplier, spanning procurement, supply, works, and capital projects.

Specialising in the procurement, management, and delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects, Robert has an eye for detail and a knowledge of contract law that is second to none.

Robert joined the MLA team in July 2019 and has enjoyed the transition back to private practice and to life in Newcastle.

A few of Robert’s many highlights include:

  • Advising the principal and preparing contracts for the delivery of a new data centre in Sydney valued at ~$180M.
  • Reviewing and negotiating supply and works subcontracts in connection with major transport infrastructure projects across multiple Australian jurisdictions, valued up to ~$100M.
  • Advising the successful consortium on its bid for a major light rail public transport project in Sydney, including preparing subcontract documentation.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and swimming.
