In private practice, Aaron developed extensive expertise in the complex areas of insurance and construction risks, including dispute resolution services, and experience in all NSW and Federal Courts.
Aaron’s time in the in-house world granted him greater perspective on clients’ needs and commercial objectives. With a focus on delivering technically correct and astute advice, in a concise and timely manner, Aaron has a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end considerations and provides ongoing assistance and advice throughout the lifetime of any project.

  • Acting for a large, publicly listed, Australian construction company in complex Supreme Court proceedings relating to the design and construction of an onsite stormwater detention system.
  • Acting in successful proceedings in District Court for a building company regarding multiple issues against owners of a commercial premises, followed by successful defence in Court of Appeal.
  • Acting for domestic and international insurers and insureds in the Australian construction risks insurance market as both coverage and defence counsel.
  • Worked as legal counsel and risk and compliance officer for a tier 2 construction company providing analysis and advice on various topics including compliance with domestic and international privacy laws and regulations, internal governance procedures, and general corporate and commercial advice.
  • Worked as legal counsel for a large, publicly listed, Australian tourism and hospitality company in a multi‑jurisdictional building cladding matter.
  • Worked as legal counsel for a tier 2 building company providing project delivery support to the works team.
  • Worked as legal counsel for a specialist subcontractor providing advice on contractual rights and responsibilities relating to the design and construction of a Victorian PPP project.
